VT MAE steps up in many ways to help meet community needs in Mobile and beyond:
Sponsoring Mobile's "hottest" charity event – the American Cancer Society's annual Chili Cook-Off to support early cancer prevention and detection efforts.
Site-wide participation in WKRG's annual The Great Toy Drive, that collects toys that are distributed through the Salvation Army to individual families and other charitable organizations.
Helping fund the Mobile Area Education Foundation's "Partners in Education" program which works to improve K-12 education quality for all children in the Mobile County public schools.
Contributing to the American Heart Association, where funds are used to fight, as well as raise local awareness of stroke and heart diseases.
The 'Worlds of Opportunity' Career Expo is a fun, educational, hands-on opportunity for students to become familiar with a broad overview of jobs available in the area. Attendance to the expo will be available to students from our eight county workforce development region which includes Baldwin, Choctaw, Clarke, Conecuh, Escambia, Mobile, Monroe, and Washington Counties.
Funding long-standing support for St Jude Children's Research Hospital through the FedEx St Jude Classic PGA tournament, a major fundraising event for the hospital. The hospital provides cancer treatment for children, regardless their families ability to pay for treatment.
Contributing to the US Airways Cactus Classic golf tournament, with proceeds benefitting the US Airways Education Foundation which funds college scholarships and community education grants.
Investing as a stakeholder in the Economic Development Partnership of Alabama (EDPA), which is dedicated to helping Alabama attract and retain industry and quality jobs.
Participating in several American Red Cross blood drives each year where VT MAE employees can give blood at our facilities.
Sponsored a Shrimp Cook-Off in downtown Mobile for Hands-On Alabama, a community nonprofit which coordinates volunteer activities in the Mobile area.
